MEET THE TEAM

John Merritt – John leads the planning, design, legal and financial functions as President. John grew up in the Houston area and west Texas. He holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University. He was a Texas Registered Engineer for 22 years. John is also a retired Texas Real Estate Professional Inspector. John brings to JMH 30 years of engineering and project management experience in the oil and gas business. One of the blessings of the oil and gas business is frequent transfers and an opportunity to live in Wyoming, Oklahoma and Utah. “Eight relocations allowed our family to create a new home at each location. Yes, we did design and build some of them, but most importantly, these experiences from the Client’s perspective have been invaluable as I’ve changed hats to the Builder. I receive my greatest satisfaction in the reputation we’ve developed in our community and the many clients that we now count as our friends.”
Cathy Merritt – Cathy leads the selection team and does the specialty painting and faux finishes. She is the one who pulls together tile colors, patterns, paint, and the many selections and finishes available in the lighting, plumbing and hardware. She helps the Client interpret specifications and plans and discover their own preferences and taste and help transform the intangible elements that make a house a home.
Maggie Merritt McCarthy – Maggie manages the field operations. She has degrees in Construction Science and Animal Science from Texas A & M University. Her construction degree trained her on the technical side of construction and she has used her field experience over the last five years to hone her project scheduling and management skills. Maggie’s equestrian training and experience enable her to provide barn design and site development help to Clients with horses. “I take pride in my communications with the Client and feel that by carefully listening I am able to better bring their dreams to reality in their home. I have been trained to always have some work taking place at the job site - to keep the construction process moving forward daily. With our project scheduling we are able to complete our homes months sooner than other builders, thus saving the Client time and money.”
Our team of Subs and Suppliers - Over the years we have been able to assemble a team of highly qualified and experienced suppliers and trade contractors which hold to our same high standards and personal attention. We believe that our Business Partners are people who are to be treated with dignity and respect and who should be allowed to earn a fair return on their products and services.
